TOOL won 2 Grammy Awards and nominated 3 other times. There are only two GRAMMY Award winners that have headlined Coachella twice. Tool who headlined the first one in 1999 and the Red Hot Chili Peppers have headlined three times.
I was lucky enough to photograph TOOL 2012 for Revolver Magazine. The real luck was Maynard could be seen. That tour he stood alongside the drum kit. I've been to a TOOL performance where he was standing behind the drummer and facing the backdrop for the entire show. Only the people with tickets way off to the side stage could kind of see him that tour. Years later and I'm still laughing writing about that moment.
